Miami Electrolysis

WHY CHOOSE ELECTROLYSIS?

Electrolysis is effective on all hair types and skin colors. It is a 130-year old practice and the only permanent hair removal method to have gotten FDA approval.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

Most areas of the body are effectively treated by electrolysis. This includes, but is not limited to, eyebrows, ears, hairline, upper lip, chin, abdomen, bikini, arms, armpits, breasts and legs. However, we recommend avoiding having electrolysis done on the nose, or inside the nostrils and ear canals.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?

Although individual pain tolerance varies, here are some things you can expect. You will not feel the probe insertion itself, but when the current is discharged you will feel a momentary sensation of heat. Different areas of the body have different levels of sensitivity. Most people find discomfort levels to be minimal however everybody is different. If the pain is a concern, you may apply a topical anesthetic, which we can recommend to you during your consultation.

IS IT SAFE?

Yes, electrolysis has been safely performed for more than 130 years, and even temporary side effects such as red and puffy skin are minimal. It is equally effective for all skin colors and hair types, can be safely performed on tattooed skin, and is the only permanent hair removal method approved by the FDA. We use the Apilus machine, ensuring you have the technology that makes your experience as efficient and comfortable as possible.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Electrolysis consists of a series of treatments, ensuring that the hair follicles can be destroyed during each growth cycle. The amount of treatments you will need varies from person-to-person. This may depend on the amount and thickness of the hair, genetics, hormonal balance, health conditions, and your prior methods of hair removal. When you come in for a consultation, we will create a customized appointment plan. It’s important to have patience and remember that each appointment gets you one step closer to being permanently hair-free.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

Please do not shave for at least 2-3 days before your treatment. The hair needs to be long enough to be grabbed with tweezers. Electrolysis works with the moisture in the skin, so stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water the day before and of your treatment, and try to avoid caffeine on the day of treatment if possible.
