BEFORE
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water to keep moisture in the skin.
- Do not shave for at least 2-3 days prior to your appointment. The hair must be long enough to be removed with tweezers during the treatment.
- Once you have started electrolysis, areas being treated may not be waxed or tweezed. You can shave or cut in between treatments.
- Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours prior to treatment. Sunburned skin can not be treated.
- Avoid stimulants such as coffee the day of your appointment, as this could make you more sensitive to pain.
- Please remove all make up prior to face treatments.
AFTER
- Your skin may appear red and slightly puffy immediately after treatment, but this will disappear within the first 1-2 hours.
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 48 hours after treatment. This can result in changes in pigmentation. Always use sunblock.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or scratching the treated areas.
- Aloe gel can be applied to the skin for the first 3-4 days after treatment to help the healing process.
- If tiny “pimples” or white heads appear, use warm compress on them and apply any antibiotic cream, like Neosporin, once a day for a couple of days. This is a normal reaction and they will heal on their own.
- If scabbing occurs, do not pick these areas. Apply antibiotic cream or aloe gel.
- Do not use makeup or deodorant the treated area for 24 hours after treatments.
- Do not wash or use alcohol-based products on the treated area for 1-2 days. If needed, wipe the area with witch hazel.
- Avoid workouts, pools, saunas or hot tubs for at least 48 hours after treatment. Sweat can lead to bacteria entering your hair follicles, causing pimples.
